My first post with a couple of questions about url/web address. We have blank spaces in the URL, is this good or bad practice? We will have the option to use a "-" character in a months time when they upgrade website software, so can replace the blank space, is this better?

In the html source code the url contains blank spaces, but after I click on it the URL in internet explorer address bar is converted "XYZ%ABC/", the blank spaces are converted to '%', will this have any impact when the Crawlers/Bots index our site, and how/if will this affect google pagerank?

Thanks is advance for any answers, Julian.

Never use spaces ( ) or underscores (_) in URLs. They cause a lot of problems.

Make sure that you always use dots (.) or hyphens (-) to separate the words.

Do not use underscores in URL. Always use dots or hyphens in URL. Hyphens are used to seperate two words.

Thanks for the answers.

One more question, does having a double slash in the url, example below, create any problems, i think this is stopping bots/crawlers looking at these pages?
