May be I just don't see the obvious, but what's the difference between a website designed/coded for Web and Web 2.0? How do you tell the difference?

So Web 2.0 is mostly about content and how you use/access it? Then the page layout, graphics, xhtml, hmtl, css, visual looks etc. are no different?

pretty much, web 2.0 is more about visitors being able to interact with the site more than anything, even little things like thumbs up/thumbs down can make a site 'web 2.0'.
Some real examples of web 2.0 are social media sites such as www.digg.com
