Now i see some directories require you to become editor in order to submit websites.

But Zeal.com quiz is quite difficult for me to pass.
Where can i just find a editor to help me submit the sites directly?

esp. i just want to submit some non-profit religion sites.
i don't like spend time to go through an exam by zeal.com. or by other directories.

Please advise

Unless someone here who is a volunteer happens to send you a PM to volunteer, the only way to do it is to pass the test. That's how they keep from getting slammed with so much spam.

If you read through their guidelines, the test shouldn't take too long to pass...usually about 20 minutes, which is a small price to be able to submit as many sites as you want after that.

JoeAnt.com has no exam to become an editor. Just apply and you're in. But you need to read the guidelines anyway to know how to make good submissions.

Hmmm. I never knew that is how they operated. Interesting! The ODP still is king! smile

LOL @ Jordan.

JoeAnt and GoGuides have earned a lot of respect from me recently, they are really making strides toward building good directories. With DMOZ having growing pains right now, it's nice to have some alternatives. Additionally, the growth of those alternative directories proves that there is a need for them and will hopefully inspire Netscape to continue funding server space and such for DMOZ.

Hope you are right. Personally I think AOL/TW is setting on a pretty good gold mine right now. I mean how much do you think they'd sell it for (or part with it)? Even if it was put in the contract that they would have free use of the RDF forever? I would say they wouldn't part with it for less then US$5 million.

to vrindavan,

You may try and submit your site to the Gimpsy directory. It is free, but your sites MUST be interactive to qualify.

Hope that helps

MC

Congrats Vrindavan!

Jordan, to the best of my knowledge, there has to be something you can "do" on the site. It could be purchase a product, sign up as a member of a forum, basically anything more than look at the site and leave.

Hello,

Gimpsy does its best to provide help and instructions, see the relevant FAQ here. To However, if clicking on that link is an effort, the answer to the question is copied below:

Which sites can I suggest?
In general - any site that has an online activity. Sites where the user can accomplish something. Sites that are highly interactive.

How can I decide if the site is suitable or not?
There are several ways. Perhaps the simplest is to try and complete the following sentence about your site: "On this site, the user can...". The first word must be a verb, like 'buy', 'sell', 'advertise', 'chat' and such like. If that word appears among the list of verbs on the Home Page of Gimpsy - the site passed the first test. If not - it is unlikely to get accepted.

Hope that helps

MC
