In attempting to build links for multiple sites in the same topic category, is there a risk in having too many of the same reciprocal links, directory listings and other inbound links?
For example, would their "link fingerprint" be regarded as too similar, implying that the sites are mere duplications of each other?
Or would the best practice be to find as many unique inbound links as possible and not share them among the sites?

Do what would be applicable as a resource to the target market of each individual website.
Don't build links for links sake.. make sure what you do is appropriate and then go for it freely.
If they are in the same niche and keen to share - then share.. focus on what is good for these websites and don't close them in - break the circle and link out...depending on their peculiarities - there must be *some*

So basically I think what I'm hearing is that if I obtain a link that is good for one site and I think it would also be good for another of my sites, I should try to obtain that link for the second site as well.
It also sounds like a site's link identity might be more identified by what it links out to rather than what is linking back to it.
I guess the definition of what's good for them is open for debate. ...
