JAJAH: Cool internet phone service

Get to it here: www.jajah.com

Although I haven't used it yet, it seems like a neat internet phone tool requiring no downloading of software, no special internet phone adapter, and free or very cheap internet phone rates.

See more details here:

www.jajah.com/info/rates/

They have an affiliate program too. The only thing about it was that I couldn't find the info about how much referrals earn for affiliates.

I first saw references to this internet phone company through my CUB newsletter (CUB is Citizen's Utility Board, fighting legal battles against unfair utility rate hikes and an organization set up in the 1980's to help lower utility bills in Illinois).

Anyway, members here might want to check JAJAH out.

Yes, it is cool, I have been using it for several months. The sound quality is good, and it is extremely cheap. The only drawback is that it is not 100% reliable; I manage to get a connection only 70-80% of the time.

There is also a competing similar service: www.webcalldirect.com . I tried to subscribe, but they require me to download a program to verify my credit card payment... I don't think so! It was reported to McAffee SiteAdvisor [link] .

Hmmm seems Vonage internet phone or Nuvio internet phone might be a bit more reliable. The downside to those services is that they require a monthly standard charge whether or not you use them enough. I use wireless internet connection and the Nuvio internet phone drops out about 1% of the time so it would seem Nuvio is more reliable than JAJAH. Perhaps JAJAH will get more reliable as time passes.
