Anybody using IE7? How stable is it? I'm getting errors in IE6 and thinking about upgrading it.

FireFox 2.0, you could use that one. That's the one I'd recommend using. I stay away from MSIE for obvious past security histories. Use MSIE to check your sites, but use FireFox for regular browsing and visiting this forum .

IE7 works as far as functioning is concerned, but that does not tell how secure it is. I dislike MS changing the button layout for the top of the IE7 browser--makes you hunt for your navigation buttons and menu buttons. FireFox 2.0 allows you to easily move/add your navigation buttons around according to your own preference. Don't know if IE7 has that option, but then I don't care much whether or not it does as it isn't the default browser of choice.

FireFox has the google toolbar available to use with it too so that pretty much eliminates the need to use IE7 on a regular basis.

Thanks for the input. I use Firefox 2.0 as my primary browser; however, I'm having problems with both explorer.exe and iexplorer.exe errors on my PC.

Spent all day on the phone with Microsoft tech support to no avail. Their solution was format the hard drive and do a clean install. I'll buy another PC and keep the data on this one before I'll resort to that.

I only use Internet Explorer for sites Firefox doesn't work on. I have avoided putting the Google toolbar on Firefox because it collects a lot of data on you. I have it in IE and switch to that if I want to see pagerank or search a site using the toolbar.

I finally downloaded IE 7 because IE 6 gets an error and closes every time I type anything into the address bar. I can use bookmarks and click links all day but can't type anything in. Microsoft had no idea what that might indicate.

If I were an IE fan there are two really good things about 7. It has tabs which beats opening more windows any day. And it offers a larger viewing area which is important for my work.

If there weren't sites that you just almost have to use IE on (MSN Ad Center for example) I might finally break down and learn UNIX or get a Mac.

Me too - I use FF2 with IE tab for sites that don't work in FF.

I've been using IE7 and FF2 for a while now and they're both just fine. I use the IE7 tab feature a lot rather than opening a new web browser.

When Microsoft Tech support gave up after hours and offered the solution to my IE6 issue was format and reload Windows (not happening) I downloaded IE7 (which I suggested and they never mentioned) and that made my PC fairly stable again, at least for now.

Two good things about IE7 - tabs and more visible area. One challenge - haven't found a couple of things yet that are important to me like searching the current page. Since I use FF primarily I haven't made figuring that out a priority yet.

Ctrl+F works for IE and FF to search current page. In fact, it should work inmost windows applications.
