Craigslist Posting

Good Evening All,

I’ve been doing some online marketing for my husband and my online Real Estate Investment Listing site but have not been receiving the traffic I was hoping for. That being said we have been looking at other creative marketing strategies. We have heard that posting ads on craigslist is extremely successful in bringing your site traffic if you can get past the system change issues. So, we signed up and went onto craigslist to see what other ads we could find. We really just wanted to get an idea of what type of businesses were having ads posted on craigslist. We found that there were quite a few and even ran across an ad from a craigslist ad posting company. Getting to the point….

One of my questions to this forum is: Have any of you had any experience with posting ads on craigslist?

If you have had experience with posting ads or having ads posted; what was your success rate?

Also, I contacted this craigslist posting company in order to get some information about the services they could provide. I’m not sure how hard it really is to perform these functions within craigslist so can someone tell me how hard it is to post ads on craigslist that may contain images, & links? Also, they emphasized about the fact that they were able to do this without being ghosted. What is ghosting???

At any rate, I have been trying to locate some reviews on this posting company because it seems that you can get up to a couple thousand posting for a pretty reasonable price, but I’ve not been successful and they don’t seem to have a website. Has anyone ever heard of Auto CL Posters???

Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Melissa Thomas

sorry, i don't know the answer, but i took a quick look at your site and you should seriously cut down on your keywords in your meta tag. you are setting off some spam filters for sure.

Have you even read the TOS at craigslist?

POSTING AGENTS

A "Posting Agent" is a third-party agent, service, or intermediary that offers to post Content to the Service on behalf of others. To moderate demands on craigslist's resources, you may not use a Posting Agent to post Content to the Service without express permission or license from craigslist. Correspondingly, Posting Agents are not permitted to post Content on behalf of others, to cause Content to be so posted, or otherwise access the Service to facilitate posting Content on behalf of others, except with express permission or license from craigslist.

Additionally, you agree not to:

w) post the same item or service in more than one classified category or forum, or in more than one metropolitan area;

It seems pretty clear to me that craigslist is not intended for parties to exploit their own agendas.

Hello,

I had a small campaign running on craigslist a couple of months back and I used a company by the name of Auto CL Posters based out of Dallas. They didn’t have a website either, and the pitch sounds about right. I was extremely satisfied with the results I received. In fact I have quite a few long term customers from the posts that company was able to provide. Craigslist is not that easy to post on these days in the area of marketing. They are consistantly changing their security features and if your post is successfully posted then you might want to go back a little while later you may find that your post has been flagged. Craigslist is a great way to get your product viewed. However, if you’re going to try the CL posting tools rather than the services I would suggest that you do your homework prior to jumping right into posting. If you’re not up to date on the latest security features you may end up spinning your wheels and if the prices are reasonable to you than the services would probably better suit your needs.

However, you need to look into other marketing strategies other than craigslist. You have a real estate investment listing site, right? Are you looking into RSS Feed features for investors to subscribe to your listings? You may also want to look into setting up a page to collect emails from interested investors as well. Just a couple of ideas but there are several ways to market yourself you just need to be diverse and try to think about want the customer might want to see and where they might look. Hope this is helpful and good luck!

BJ

I have tried and experience with posting on craiglist. Craiglist is a free classified ads on which you can post your classified and sure traffic for a site. Craiglist is too strict through posting of classified ads and they easily deleted and flag the ads if they seen it duplicate.
