Can anyone comment on publishing staff email addresses on a company web site? Does this open these addresses to increased SPAM email? And if so, are there any practices that are being used to minimize this sort of activity?
Thanks

Yes it does, once the address is published it can be harvested. (It can be harvested without being published but placing an email address on a web page makes it much easier to get and spam).

People have used many different coding tricks to try and block harvesters but they eventually recode the harvester to account for the current block.

Forms tend to be useful as they cannot be harvested like a basic mailto link can.

you can also purchase, or even sometimes find free, and email scrambler, which makes it impossible for harvester bits to actually read your email address. Try doing a search on www.google.com for example r-mail scrambler or e-mail coder. try with some mis-spellings to, could bring up more results.

placing your e-mail address on the page as a graphic works as well, though it can make the formatting look off if the user has their font set at large/small, where the graphic wont match the rest of the page anymore.
