Hi all,

I need to set up a friend with an ecommerce site (100-300 items).
This person wants to be able to update and/or add/delete items on her own. She knows absolutley nothing about web programming, databases, shopping carts...etc. My php and mysql knowledge is very limited. I was hoping that some of you might know of a host that has an easy to use interface that I could set up for her so she could easily update the info.

I was looking at monstercommerce.com

Does anyone have any other suggetions?

Thanks!

While I am a reseller of the following software, I suggest this not because I am looking for sales, but because it truly is easy. EZNetTools.net If you do choose to purchase though........ :] I hope this doesn't break the rules. :]

Hi,

of course there are hundreds of shopping carts out there and it's hard to say which is the best choice for you.

MonsterCommerce however doesn't appear the best match for you. First, it is based on ASP (if I'm not mistaken), second it's quite costly - even it has a good feature set.

You might want to contact me if you're interested to become a pilot customer of our new US version of our in Germany very successful cart. The feature set exceeds MonsterCommerce, it is based on PHP technology, and for you as pilot customer it would be completey free (except web-hosting, but you can do this where-ever you want). However it will still take 2-3 weeks before the US version is available.

First off, apologies if this is inappropriate, but I couldn't manage to leave a pm - I was getting an error. I don't have time to figure out how else to contact you this evening and I hope this doesn't exceed the terms of posting on the forum sad

might I invite you to check out

luckenbooth.com
To create product options, take the Create/Edit Options link.

Add a new item is where you can add in new products to individual categories. You can select various image options as well and the image uploader will handle gif/jpeg formats.

To make the products show up in the catalog, you must run the catalog.html page through an edit - in the Edit Main Pages section - and that's it!

Fairly straightforward - and a support forum to get all your questions answered!

I hope that helps.

Thanks
Margaret

I’m a web designer and when customers need an easy-to-use ecommerce which doesn’t cause much trouble to me I give them a free application called Comersus. You can download it from comersus.com and since it is an ASP software it is compatible with any windows hosting. Set up is very easy, you just have to upload files through FTP and you can start working.

Most e-comm packages are very much under-powered in their spiderabiliy, and have the most horrendous Duplicate Content and canonicalisation issues. Be very careful, and be prepared to make many alterations to the scripts before taking any such site online.

I am closing this thread, it too old and people are spamming it.
