Due to several reasons I am using ikobo as my online money transfer service. Everything went well until now when I decided to make my own online store. I chose a web hosting provider that works for me (oscommerce included) and now I have to integrate my website with my ikobo merchant account which I didn't made yet. My question is: How easy is to integrate ikobo merchant with oscommerce ? And how easy is to setup the ikobo merchant account considering that I am new in e-commerce business?

iKobo is easy to setup, however, they do not have a developer friendly API for integrating with osCommerce. You can pass customer orders to iKobo and let the customer make the payments from there, but not pass all the details over. iKobo requires manual input from the buyer and usually a phone call to verify payment.

I already found an interesting thread about the integration of ikobo and OSC. There is a module there which can be used to make the integration. Anyway, it was really interesting and the link is http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2440

Great. I've been wondering when something like this would appear. It’s great that someone has finally done this. I know of many people who would be interested in this since with ikobo and OSCommerce you can virtually start your own e-shop with no fees at all. Thanks for the link, I'll look into this myself and come back once I know more.

Yes, I already use it and the next version (which would appear very soon) will have IPN and prepopulated address fields. This is useful if you want to use customer details automatically.

OK, so you're actually using it. That's even better, this means it really works and maybe I should give this a try myself. I think it's a real step forward for ikobo to have such a module available. I think a lot of people will want to use this from now on.

You do what it's good for you. It works and I think this a consequence of the increasing number of ikobo clients. If the market demands it , it will probably go forward with other new versions and yes, people with OSC will benefit from this payment module.

I will do what's good for me. So far, this ikobo-OSC combination seems like a winner. You're also saying it's a good thing and brings more customers so I don't see any reason why not to use it myself. Let's just hope it won't stop at this and that newer and better versions will be launched.

you have to be kidding - get off the ikobo bandwagon and peddle your wares somewhere else.

I don't see any reason to make fun of you :? I think OsCommerce is a great shopping cart with lots of facilities which can be used with virtually any payment provider you want.
I don't know where you live but for me, ikobo made my ideas about an antiquities shopping cart possible because in my country it is the only payment processor that has coverage so please do not interrupt us just to make fun. Thank you.

I'm sorry stevenjm feels this way, but as I stated before I like my collaboration with ikobo so far. If something were to change, I would be the first to look elsewhere and also warn others of any potential problems. This hasn't happened as of yet, so I'll remain on "the ikobo bandwagon".
