Dealtime.com?

I notice this site coming up in search results fairly often. They say they are PPC . . . anyone have any experiences with them? Also, does a link from them help link popularity?

Dealtime is a shopping search engine. Link popularity does not play any role in ranking. Bidding on a per click basis does.

Dealtime I think is ideal for sites with a large number of products, in popular consumer categories.

Creating a datafeed for your products is also pretty simple. PPC bids can be fairly high in certain categories, so you really need to have a good ROI measurement.

I don't know that you would get a link pop boost for just being listed on Dealtime, but since they do come up a lot in search results for competitive listings, it may be a good way to tap into their traffic & siphon some off.

If you want you can also have dealtime spider your ecommerce content. Initially it takes 3 weeks, but from there they automatically spider it ongoing to keep your products up to date.

Dealtime does not count towards google link popularity based on my experiences - when DealTime does come up in the search engine it is often related to a ppc listing.

I tried dealtime.com and was unable to verify their claimed traffic with my logs. I then created a sub-domain especially to track them with and it still wasn't jibing. Not only that, I never sold a thing from that sub-domain.

At least they let me cancel with no hassle, but they did accidentally charge my card two months later. When I called to complain they took care of crediting my card back in a timely manner.

what is the advantage of listing your items with Dealtime instead than with a free listing Auction Site ?

I don't understand why should I pay Dealtime for something I can get for free.

sebans, just another means of traffic. If a customer is searching on Dealtime.com for a product you sell and you are not advertising there, they will not find you. You pay per click, so just think of it as something like Overture or AdWords but with extremely targetted traffic (people will only click on your ad if they see your product and like it). Shopping.com/DealTime has been quite profitable for a few of our clients the last couple months.

I have not had too much luck with them, they are expensive (.75 cents a click) and unless you have a high profit item its not worth the ratio of clicks to orders. The only reason we keep them is for "repeat customers", plus our salespeople take over those accounts as "leads". Hope it helps.

Well I believe Dealtime and other shopping bots like them offer something more than a listing. On their end when a user gets to a product page, that page usualy has..
product pictures
product reviews
product specifications
merchant reviews, prices, shipping costs
and more.

So if you think about it, look at all the information a user has by the time he/she clicks on you.
I'm not a huge shopping.com (dealtime) fan but I am a fan of price comparison sites as a whole.
