I hope this tip is useful for new website owners who are selling services across the internet, but can't afford the high costs of "paid inclusions" and want an added marketing idea.
Example; Joe Smith has a website that he uses to sell cars. To get the site into a directory such as Yahoo will cost. However, Yahoo does allow for free listings for sites that do not sell a service, but provide educational or other useful information (ie non sales)
Therefore, Joe Blogs now sets up a second website (with a different domain name) based on "free tips" and "advice on buying cars" - and hey presto - Yahoo accepts this in their directory.
This results in a title that stands out from the crowd. If someone now goes into the directory and sees a website offering "free and useful advice before you buy a car", it prompts the reader into visiting Joe Bloggs free site first.
A few additional links and recommendations from the free site into Joe Bloggs’ main business site, and hey presto !!! A neat little referral service created by himself.
This is a simple marketing trick that thousands of sites use. And it works!
These are just the basic steps, but you can do much much more.
:D
