I've been using the 'New MSN' and 'Yahoo Next' over google lately.
Yes, Google Sucks. If you take a close at their business strategies for 2004-2005, there are a lot of things which frightens me.
For instance, they provide only 1000 queries through their API whereas yahoo provides 5000 and MSN allows unlimited.

Once upon a time the search results for a product name or model number would bring up either the vendor's own pages or a few user comment pages. Now Google returns hundreds of garbage pages that are either nothing but keyword traps or half-assed storefront pages. For example, when looking some info on a Pioneer amp model#VSX-D412K look at the results. Pure junk. There's nothing but storefront pages. What a waste of time.

It might be OT, but if I were to pick a page to autoload it would likely be a news site (BBC for example) or Bloglines. I have the Google search toolbar on my browsers in any case so I don't need to go to the home page except for advanced searches.
