When submitting to certain directories I notice that
the actual PR may be quite high but the page I want to get listed on sometimes has no PR at all ..? How much difference can this make on ranking or weight ? Thanks

Look at the quality of the directory. Will it bring you traffic?

the PR of the directory doesn't have any use, its the PR on the page where your website is listed in that counts and if its topic related and indexed by google.

hmmm.. So the PR of the page will tell me about the quality then ? Also, how can we say that a directory can bring in traffic.. I mean usually its more of s SEO thing than anything else..

PR is just one, tiny, indicator of quality. Don't put too much weight on it, or you'll (hopefully) live to regret it. smile

Quality is, er, Quality - you'll know it when you see it (and miss it when you don't).

SEO 102: DON'T get hung up on PR - or you'll be hung out to dry.

PR is just one of the factors to measure the importance of any page. There are lot many things like relevancy, position of link etc. which should be considered while submitting any site to the directories.

I suggest not to put much stress on the PR of the directory page you are submitting your website as the directory pages keep on refresh and sooner or later they will get their deserved PR.

Keep on submitting your website to relevant directories.
