reading text inside forms

hi all....

just had a thought this morning.. its never really hit me before that most of the content on a well know OS shopping cart has its main content within a form tag.

Now, how well do we think search engines read content within a form tag? i'm guessing they see it and index it, but logic would say they give it a very low priority compared to standard formatted text..

anyone know?

I'd say very low as a form is for data to be filled in rather than the data pre-filled in and is usually stuff like 'insert name', 'insert email address' which is not useful.

Of course the best way to find out is to test smile

in this case the copy in the form tag is tables, images, paragraphs etc etc... and not actually textarea, input tags etc, but yep i know what you mean.

unfortunately due to the crappy way the product pages are written its going to take me a while to plod through it and change the system.. but i know its got to be done sad
