How to add a link to my site?

I want to send emails to various site owners that I've recently talked to about linking to each others sites and I've been reading on the correct way to do this. Would like someone to tell me if this is the correct format for me to send in an email for someone to "copy and paste" to a page within their site.

<A HREF="http://www.my site url">My Company Name - Brief description</A>

I think only My Company Name and brief description would show, is that right?
I hate to send this in an email then find out I missed something. Appreciate anyone's help.

Thanks

why no ones answered this is amazing.. yes thats fine as far as code goes, but no need to use caps.
Make sure 'brief description' contains your main keyterms with as few words as possible.
If you were being picky you'd leave out the company name and just use your main keyterms in the link text, but the companies linking to you may not like that, and it doesnt look professional.

although 'linking to each others sites' in the original post may indicate reciprocal. I dont think theres anything wrong with a few reciprocals providing you're all in the same industry.

You can send as:
<A HREF="http://www.my site url">My Company Name</A><br>Write here Brief Description of your Company".

By doing this, Company Name will appear with link and below this link, your company description will appear.

yeah but thats pants for keyword placement where it counts.. you ideally need you main keyword in the tag.

One more thing ... depending on relationship you have to the other site you may want to retain the visitor own your own sites whilst opening a new browser window for the link to open. This can cause a few issues with pop-up settings being blocked by some users but many prefer it as an option as your own site remains open. The code for this is:

<a href="http://www.my site url" target="_blank">My Company Name</a><br> Write here Brief Description of your Company"

One way links are good only if they are from non-spammy / non-linkfarm pages.
