I think what you're asking in the first post is will i be found for different variants of a term, and the answer is yes, BUT the performance will be less than that of the full term.
Ie take a page themed for 'pink floyd tabs', with titles and meta descriptions as that.
You will have marketed your page for all or any of these (listed in order of prominence)
pink floyd tabs
pink floyd
floyd tabs
pink tabs
and also the following to a minor degree..
tabs pink
floyd pink
etc etc
BUT, the biggest success in terms of serps would be 'pink floyd tabs' , as that is your full term. The other variants will see a significantly reduced success rate, but will still work. Ideally, you'd create seperate pages for each term if you wanted to be spot on with your SEO, but sometimes this isnt possible, especially with e-commerce sites.
