WhoIs and Reverse IP Lookup

Checking the logs of a Brand Spanking Shiny (ok not so shiny - only 1/2 done) site I found a URL (changed to jimworld below).

http://www.whois.sc/jimworld.com

WTF!

Not only a thumbnail - but page title, meta description, meta keywords, server type, DMOZ and Yahoo! directory listings, Reverse IP lookup! (it lists how many domains found on the IP), whois history, and everything else you could possibly want to know about the url.

Basic membership is free but limited. Certain information is totally off limits and other is greatly reduced.

BTW: I signed up for the free membership - so far harmless smile

Yep, the do offer some good services, such as the ability to see all the websites on a certain ip address

Unfortunately that's a pay one - you get 3 with the free membership - which was enough for me to test and see if it got correct urls (i know what almost all the urls on my server are). I'm debating on if it's worth it to pay or not.

Hmmm. I didn't know that you didn't know about this one.

I just goes to show that what you don't know, you don't know.

ODP editors have been hammering that resource for years.

I may have seen it some where along the way but not realized just how useful it is.

Kinda like how you didn't know about Xenu wink

Yeah. I knew all about Xenu, ages ago.

What I didn't know, was that I needed it.
