Hey All, The titles says it all. Out of the two what is the better SEO tool? Or is there a better one than the both of them? I dont mind paying for the software, but free is always great... Thanks all...

I'm personally a fan of not using software to optimize. I do it all manually - it is actually the best way and gets results safely.

I'm sure some folks have had success with either of those options, but there's no substitution for the human mind understanding a situation and reacting based on up-to-date knowledge - something software cannot do.

Well to be honest, i would rather do it manual too, that way i know exactly whats going on, the only thing is, how do you do it manually? I guess thats a massive post, but can you post the methods of the manual way, or just the steps? I can revise the process from the steps if you would be kind enough to post them.

To actually answer that question, well, let's just say that's the very reason searchengineforums exists in the first place.

If I tried to walk you through all the items you'd want to think about, this post would go on forever. if I made a shortlist of items, I'd leave stuff out that you should focus on.

This resource has useful info on many of the factors that affect SEO, so it's not abad place to start - be prepared to need to "go look stuff up" as it's not written directly for those who are new to search optimization.

Also I'll suggest doing a search here for SEO books to get you started. there are soem good ones and they do a decent job of covering the basics and giving you a guide to follow.

Here is a resource to help you:

This is a run-down on how to use the SEF search functionality to find exactly what you want - trust me, it's in here somehwere...LOL

Dude, use IBP9 it rocks! Alot of poeple here are always about "doing it yourself" and not using tools. IBP9 will evaluate your competitions page and you make changes accordingly. I hve got many top rankings with the help of IBP.

i use the free version of IBP and its enough, all SEO softwares do is giving you basic SEP tips so if you know basic SEO you wont need them like:

-Use keywords in your Title, description,Meta Tags

-Get good links

-Keywordtools(which are really free online Overture,Google)

-they analyze your competition and you can do it yourself too, just might take more minutes but is freesmile

-keyword density analyzer that you can find online for free too.

so basically just learn about SEO as much as you can and you wont need any special softwares.

to answer the question one should try both ) So I am going to try free version of IBP to check it. I didn't it before, because I am pretty happy with webceo which I am using. But really unbiassed comparison would be great

You'll probably find that most folks who do this for a living don't use those tools - they either build their own for specific reasons they have, or they simply know what they're doing, and do it. wink

or they are pretending not to use it wink

or they are pretending not to use it

...I'm pretty sure when a professional SEO says they're not using a particular tool, they're not using it. After all, it's readily obvious when someone doesn't know the basics of htis stuff, so it'd be a fulltime job to pretend to know it and use a tool.

Plus, eventually, the tool will lead you astray, or not deliver results.

but tools can be great in making reports for your customers, not for doing SEO.
