I have made an attempt to make a simple, clear and user-friendly cricket website showing scorecard, points table and quick news mainly on Indian Premier League (IPL T20 Cricket).

Target is to get user loyalty and returning traffic. Montizing the website and putting ads will be the last things only once i achive my objective.

The website will soon have more sections like Cricket Videos, Comments on general cricket topics posted by admin(no registration required*) and an easy flash cricket game.

Anyways i will get back to you guys for your further reviews once i launch phase 2 version.

For now I thank all the SEF user for reading my post and reviewing my website.

Please give me your honest opinions/comments of what you feel about the website, criticize if you find something wrong.

Great idea; but I suspect there are many sites doing the same thing; you need to be sure that yours is the best, and in some way unique.

It's a good start, and these are minor points, but every bit helps ...

1. Lose the black border - unless you intend to specialize in People Killed by Cricket Balls

2. Change the banner; it's bright and cheerful, but has no relevance to cricket; either abright montage of photos or an abstract picture ... maybe a batsman one end hitting a six, and bails flying off the other?

3. Make the banner clickable to domain.com

4. Make the 'home' link to domain.com (urgently)

5. you feature news (no links though?), and live cricket ... do you have the resources to keep that promise? Nothing kills a site quicker than failing to keep its promises.

6. Set up a 301 permanent redirect from cricketainment.com to www.cricketainment.com/

7. You've told us what the site will do, but the site does not pass that on to new arrivals. How about adding a slogan to your banner

"everything you need to know about Cricket in India, but were afraid to ask"

I'm sure you can do better (and briefer), but you get the point!

maybe make links on your news items and have it linked to a more in depth page on that subject.

Like the general appearance. Would suggest a different colour to black as the border - maybe a lighter colour.

The site is also short on photo's/thumbnails - maybe some on the player lists?

checked using 'cricketainment' on google and ask.com and unfortunately is not on the first few pages.

I'm not very familiar with Cricket so this is overwhelming to me. At first I'm not sure is this just local India teams, or is it national. Then is it professional or a step down. Plenty of visual things to look at, and a nice layout. I would change the logo as "Sunday" suggested.

'cricketainment' I am on the first page for the term ion almost all major search engines.

IPL is like Spanish Premier League where franchaises run their team but here it's for T20 cricket and not football as T20 cricket is a very popular game now not only in South Asia but fast spreading round the globe.

These are local India city teams like Mumbai, Kolkata but the franchises have also bought 4-5 foreign players(max of them are super stars) each for from almost all cricketing nations paying them millions of dollars.

IPL T20 was been started by Indian Board of Cricket and teh first year has been a megha hit, which hijacked all prime time TRP's atleast here in SouthAsia.

It was an action packed thriller.


For LOGO i am not a designer so need to try out my hands on photoshop for a better one.

The site was been launced in a very short time almost in the mid of IPL but it recieved 30K plus impressions in last than 30 days without any sort of promotions.

even for many IPL related keywords my website is been ranked fisrt.
although i nevre targeted for any keywords using SEO techniques but just treid to roll out a usefull product.

guys any idea if i ever decide to sell it how much would it worth.
