It used to be great before Yahoo! came along (actually Overture), now I think this whole new system is ridiculous. Here's the chat I had today, thought I'd share it so anybody thinking about getting into this new system can see how ridiculous it is:

Shari: Hello and welcome to our Livechat service. Could I please have your account number?
Doug: What is the minimum click balance to show URL's in the search results?
Doug: My balance is 29.30 and it says I'm removed because I've fallen below the minimum????
Shari: One moment please while I view your account.
Shari: Thank you for holding. Let me explain how the click balance work and what is minimum.
Shari: Your Minimum Click Balances are calculated using both the Cost-Per-Click categories in which the URLs in your account fall into and the estimated Spend Rate of your account.
Shari: Minimum Click Balances are based on a minimum number of days worth of spend at the estimated Spend Rate.
Doug: ok, that's $3.30 in the last 30 days
Shari: Your Spend Rate is determined by first calculating the individual spend rate for all URLs in your account, and then rolling these amounts up into an account level Spend Rate.
Doug: There are only 3 URL's active
Doug: says total cost, last 30, is $3.30
Shari: Yes you are correct but the cost or clicks was made on the URL on 1,2,3,4 and 5 Of May.
Shari: 1-May-2005 6
Shari: Sorry that is 1st May 6 Clicks
Shari: 2-May-2005 click 8
Shari: 3-May-2005 Click 4
Shari: 4-May-2005 Click 3
Doug: ok, so what is my minimum? I don't understand this. Maybe if you could give me my minimum I could just take care of this.
Shari: 5-May-2005 Click 3
Shari: The thing is I can not tell you what is your Minimum as you can see in one day you have 8 clicks and in one day you do have 3 clicks
Shari: I would suggest to you to have the account on 100$ as a balance
Shari: And then you can see the activities on the URLs and clicks
Doug: well, your software here doesn't tell me my minimum either. I have to just keep depositing until the red text goes away?
Shari: Then you will know what type of minimum you need.
Shari: Minimum depend on the clicks you do get per day.
Doug: boy, I miss Inktomi. Last question. A lot of URL's in my account are from 2002, sold and no longer mine. How do I delete them?
Shari: So no one can tell you what is the Minimum, If you do have a budget per month what I do suggest is to add that amount on your account and then by end of the month see if the account is active or not if the URL was deactivated then you need to add the budget amount on the account. We have lots of our customers doing this method first they do control the spending money and after one or 2 months they will know what type of click minimum they need.
Shari: Doug for Tax purposes we do need to keep all information on the customers account. They will be deleted eventually.
Doug: IRS suggests 3 years of records, many have been dormant for 3 years. ok, doesn't matter. just trying to clean up the old stuff. thank you.
When I joined in 2002 it was ink.ineedhits.com ( now ov.ineedhits.com )
All you did was pay $25 for a URL and it was included for 6 months. Now you pay $49 for a URL and $50 minimum on top of that for clicks ( $99 per URL ) and when the $50 is gone you're gone until you start making deposits. The old system was simple and effective, this is a mess, in my opinion.
