Even though the quigo site announced the Overture partnership for AdSonar, there is nothing on the Overture site about this. Anyone have any more info they could share about how this is going to effect our listings.

No word from Overture yet. I think it's still to early in the integration stage.

I can say that it appears adsense (google) has made a hell of a dent, so Overture is frantically trying to catchup. IMO, if they do it right, we'll have two good options as publishers, but my sense is that Overture will not go back down the road of allowing "any old website" to display their ads the way that google has done.

There's a reason why people love google and hate overture ... and depending on how they handle this, that point will either be hammered home, or totally debunked.

Furthering the point, one of the things that Quigo is very proud of is that

AdSonar uses a human editor to set up relevancy boundaries for its semantic algorithm, which then learns a site's features and builds a database of information about the site.

"Google doesn't do this," said Michael Yavonditte, Quigo's chief executive and a former executive at Alta Vista. "We train the artificial intelligence."

If they expect to compete with Google, that's not something to be proud of. As I made note of in the Google Forum: Private Dance Thread, Adsense, the main competitor to this system from overture/quigo is instantaneous and dynamic.

Human reviews are great, but here at Jimworld, adsense banners show on over 250,000 different pages, and google matches the ads to the content, in real time, on all of them. Quigo, with 30 people, simply couldn't do that job as mere humans wink

Quigo's human editorial setup is a purely optional process that is done by Quigo and not the publisher. This setup is done once per publisher for the purpose of understanding which parts of a page should be targeted. For example, some content sites might have: weekly specials, user’s tips, reader reviews or other items of content on a page that are not related to the article. By defining only the actual area where articles appear, Quigo is ensuring that only article’s content is used for contextual ad matching, and not the extraneous content.

Anyone know about an upcoming product Quigo is supposedly working on a which will help in automatically brainstorming keywords for a site, including generating search ad copy?
