Hi. I have a site that appears to meet all the Google criteria for acceptance to AdSense - but I was refused. The site has loads of content (200 pages) and a lot of traffic, and it deals with a mainstream area. Someone suggested to me that I was declined because Google may have taken the view that I have created the site just to post AdSense ads because I don't sell anything or carry any other ads. Actually I set it up a couple of years ago as a hobby and AdSense seems to be a good way to generate some pay-back. Any ideas anyone? Thanks

Could you put the site in your profile or send me a private message so I can take a look at the site?

I appreciate your effort to help but I have been advised strongly not to provide detils of my site. On mature reflection it was probably a question that cannot be answered adequately without eyeballing my site. Once again thank you and please accept my apologies for wasting your time.

Part of the 'gig' with AdSense is that Google is lending their 'good name' to the advertisements to make the ads more likely to recieve clicks, etc. The reverse may actually work against publishers when trying to get approved. Google may decline publishers based on whether or not they'd want their 'good name' associated with the site.

Additionally, make sure you read through not only the FAQ, but the Program Policies and Terms and Conditions pages. There's quite a few little quirky things that AdSense doesn't allow; the reviewers may have simply found something that threw up a red flag.

Last but not least, they simply may not have any advertisers for your topic area, and are just saving you the trouble of seeing lots of defaults. smile

Without seeing the site, that's about the best explanations I can come up with. Hope it helps!
