Hello Friends,
I am sending small amount of traffic to somebody's website by placing an ad for his website on Google's Adwords. As you know, It is easy to know the website which has generated traffic to your website using some commonly available tools in the market. In this case, I was wondering that would the website owner be able to know the Keywords with which I had advertised his product on google adwords??
Thanks ,
- Tushar

tushar12123,
It shows in reports you can generate from the AdWords interface.
But it also shows in the HTTP_REFERER variable that's sent on the request (Google doesn't "swallow" this). So, your friend can get it from his log files, if he has them configured to record the referrer.
The problem is differentiating paid-for referrals from normal search result referrals. To be able to differentiate those, you would need to create a special URL in your ad. A lot of people just use ?something after the URL. This makes it easy to find in the logs. For example, you could put this URL in the ad...
www.myfriendswebsite.com?CampaignName
In the logs, the requested page will be that URL (and yes, the page loads exactly the same), and the referrer will contain the keyword, like...
www.google.com/search?q=the+keywords
