Bloggers have been all ga-ga about Chitika over the last few weeks. Webmasters in various webmaster forums keep raving about how much it's earning them and how they are replacing Adsense ads with Chitika eMiniMall ads. Whole sites have come up just discussing and promoting Chitika eMiniMalls. ((URL REMOVED))

So I've put Chitika on a few of my sites. My summary: You should get on the bandwagon. The CTR is slightly lower than Adsense on "most" pages but the EPC is much higher making for higher total earnings. On some pages Chitika bombed and I took it off altogether. Once you figure that Chitika is product based and target accordingly (put it on the right pages and choose the right keywords) you can make in a week what's taking you all month now. Check it out. People in the know, professional bloggers, well known speakers at webmaster conferences are all predicting big things for Chitika eMiniMalls.

Yeah, I went to Chitica, even filled out their form to find out what they're about. Haven't heard a word back.

We are already very successful with both Google AdSense and Yahoo's Beta so I guess Chitica is just a misspelled banana importer to me instead of a really cool, esoteric West Indian moniker for an ad company until they tell me otherwise.

Too soon for me to tell you anything about Yahoo's Beta. Not enough information to give the stats an honest assessment. Preliminary results indicate that suggesting your optional "content topic" may yield more income on certain sites, but that remains to be seen and it depends upon what topic you are suggesting, obviously, just like any other ad campaign.

On a side note, Chitika did respond to me by e-mail asking why I had not implemented their code on the site I had submitted. Well, mostly because I never received a confirmation that we'd been accepted into their program in the first place - small glitch in their follow-up system I guess. So I plugged in their code to one of our (sites) pages to Beta test it and it appears fine in IE but loses its' color background definition in FireFox. The dispay is highly interactive and produces a much more sophisticated ad presentation than both Yahoo and Google, showing picures and interactive tabs to a visitor. I have no idea of the comparable payout from them either program until we give it a complete three-to-four-month trial.

One thing: Yahoo's Beta and Chitika both appear to issue the same content for a single page request at this point, no matter if you are displaying one, two or even three ad units per page. Google, on the other hand, displays different content altogether for each individual ad unit even if they appear on the same page which means they either have more advertisers or a superior algorythm for now.

Please keep in mind that we are trying these Betas on "blue chip" sites: That means mostly those sites that are pretty much not affected by the prevailing social climate one way or another. So I have no knowledge about sites that are solely comitted to contemporary Blogs, political opinions, Bulletin Boards, SE clones, Meta-whatevers, etc., etc.

Thats exactly what i have found out, about testing it out! GOOOOOOD news tho, i went to my yahoo publisher netowrk account page and found a customer service phone number (something google doesn't have) called em up and asked how much of the actual daily balance do i get paid.

they said if the clicks are legit and your site meets the terms and conditions, you get it all! lol this whole time i thought you got paid a percentage.

hey dirty shame nice job on the site, i think it looks good. will you do me a favor & check out mine [url is in profile]] to give me some tips and pointers.

oh by the way i got denied by chitika.

Chitika is no match with Google, and will never surpass its counterparts. Why??

Chitika is not contextual. You are comparing an orange with an apple.

Chitika is contextual just doesn't work the same way. From the little I read in the past on that system is that you pick keywords that match your site's content so that the right ads are displayed to match your site's content. It's a manual form of contextual ads. Instead of the contextual ads being matched to your pages via automated robots, you pick keywords to match ads to your pages. That was my understanding. Guess I should investigate this further to get a more clear understanding.
