I just started Adsense. It's minimal for me, but that's what I expected. It was interesting to post the new page code at 2 in the morning, and when I woke up, there was like $1 worth of click income.

After a couple of days, I've been noticing that the traffic goes in waves. Most of the click income has come when I'm asleep, not as much during the day.

Then I remembered that the graph in my stats page, shows two peaks of internet traffic. About lunch time here, but then about the UK's lunch time.

I'm not planning to make a whole lot off this, but once the code is set, it's worth it whether I make $300 in a year or $3000 in year.

It's entertaining to learn about and implement.

Welcome to the addiction that is Google Adsense and making money with it. wink

It's worthwhile if the site is built right and the ads placed properly. Works well and can actually generate a real, useful sideline income to start with.

Some folks make a living solely from this ad revenue, too.

You brought up an interesting point.

It crossed my mind this week, that maybe I could make some decent retirement income from this kind of advertising.

And it would be fun, because I like typing and writing.

I could keep adding advice pages until the site gets recognition outside my region, which it already does for a few pages and a few topic.

Right now, one arborist is making enough money off a referral page in my website, that his pays me enough to cover my yearly web host expense.

He likes the page I made, better than having a website. Because I'm stating how good he is, instead of him stating how good he is. Apparently, it keeps people from desiring a second estimate in most cases.

It's interesting how many angles there are to this website use.

I'd like to develop an outdoor / hiking Oregon section sometime, and possibly get a forum going again.

Bingo - concentrate on the site and building the content for now. Forums require a TON of work to police and maintain and aren't going to be your easiest ticket to long-term income.
