I have been doing favicon.ico files at 16px x 16px but read somewhere that they can be 32x32. Anyone know if thats correct?

I do believe that they can just be 16 by 16, or will probbably (if able to be 32x32) will resize to 16 by 16.
It's probbably just icons in general that can be 32 x 32.
Can someone confirm this?

A search on 'favicon' brings up alot of info from Google.
This article [WebDevJournal] seems pretty complete.
32x32 does seem to be valid but according to the article some browsers have problems with this size
