I am comfortable using very simple html with MS frontpage. However, I do believe it is crap. It was written poorly and even coding needs to be continually updated for graphics etc.

So, here is my question. What program, paid or free, will allow me to build simple html templates, and give me some dynamic easy coding crap. I am not a flash girl, and would hate to result trying to learn any of the MM applications [even though I own them]. I don't have that kind of time to invest.

I personally love Dreamwever. For the basic user it really helps. It has a template function and everything. It even has commonly used javascript behaviors, to make it easier for you. For advanced users it has code view option, which can really help.

Hi lucylou,

There are some website's, like this one, that give away free templates.
('website templates' menu top of screen!)

ps. I know you don't have the time to invest, but it would be worth trying to for MM Dreamweaver... It does seem daunting at first, but if you spent enough time with it, i'm sure you would become comfortable using it. It is an excellent package to use, and i believe it would solve a lot of your problems.
Good Luck.

Hi lucylou,

A couple very nice programs for designing web pages/sites are "HTML-Kit" ( http://www.chami.com/html-kit/ ), and "Namo Web Editor 5.5" ( http://www.namo.com/download/ ). I've use them both and think they are great.

I also use "Ultra-Edit 32" ( http://www.ultraedit.com/ ) as a text/hex editor replacement for notepad. Ultra-Edit 32 has more features than you can shake a stick at, including a HTML Validator. PC Magazine calls it "The ideal text, HEX, HTML, and programmer's editor".

I guess, like you, I don't want to have to spend a huge amount of time learning to use MM Dreamweaver (or others like it), when there are other programs (such as those I mentioned) that have very quick learning curves.

Hope you find a program you'll be comfortable with.

Don
