Well, it's a flash website, so the code resides in the flash files, so viewing the source gets ya less than what you'd otherwise like. Might give you some leads as to which files to look for, though.
And when you do get it sorted, please turn off the voice-over than chats at me when the site loads - nothing makes me leave a site faster - plus you have no way to know if folks have their volum eon, or maybe cranked up while enjoying soem music - the voice-over tends to be a bit scary at that point...

Not sure about flash programming myself, so hopefully someone can chime in on that.
You'd need the files to view the code - though the application should open them.

Hi belmson
You cannot modify a .swf file. You need to have the .fla file that created the Flash movie. All the work goes into the .fla file and this is then exported as a .swf movie.
You will need Macromedia Flash software to modify the the .fla if you have it. If you haven't got or can't get the .fla file from whoever did the work then, I'm afraid, you are stuck.

my BIG problem just got BIGGER
Ok now these guys (fluent.ws) are saying that we do not provide the .fla file.
so this is what has happened so far.
i wanted to add some tracking stuff to my site so i told fluent i needed access to the server and i wanted the ftp and all that stuff because a friend of mine was going to make changes and all that.....i was unaware of .swf and .fla at the time
this is the e mail of what they said:
We do not support client FTP access. Changes either have to be made through our company, or you would make changes, and host your site elsewhere.
We recommend godaddy.com for hosting.
Thanks
so i go to godaddy.com and start hosting my site there that day.
next i can no longer get leads from my site because fluent has their info in the script
i tell fluent i need the .fla file. they give the run around for a few days then tell me no.
so now thanks to them i can not make the changes i wanted to make in the first place and im loseing money from no leads
they run a good scam. they tell me what i need to do to make more money off me.
is there anything i can do?
anybody have any advice?

be careful with Godaddy - I use them and they are not helpful - and I pay for a virtual dedicated server, which apparently gets me a higher level of support - whatever - BS is what it is.
I've learned a lot jumping through the hoops and wearing the different hats, but if you use them, do so with open eyes.
I will say, though, that I have not had any problems with loading anything to my sites over the years - whether hosted or on my VDS. I do prefer the access the VDS allows, though, rather than FTP uploading. Just a preference, nothing more.
Might want to check with a lawyer on that file issue - reread their fine print, too.

Did you get a price from fluent for the changes?

i read the fine print a few time. i didnt see anything saying you will not receive this or that. but my brother did sign a paper that said the work was ok. see my brother did all this without consulting me. i like the site and everything but i think we could have got something similar with a template, without the voice and everything but something that would have the same effect.
philh, i asked for the price but thay havent got back to me. i dont know what their deal is. their probably mad cause they know they cant really charge me much. all i needed is some things to be cut and pasted there.
im going to stay on them to try to get the file. we didnt pay to barrow their site, we paid them to make us our site. after their done they should have no intrest in the site at all.

yup $60, it seems like one of those things that just to easy. nothing is that easy there is a trial but it is limited, says:
Unlimited trial period. Several demo limitations: conversion into FLA disabled in Demo, only 3 first objects can be exported and saved.
so if i cant convert i dont know if it works. it says it gets original source code so it might work.
om going to try the trial. i will let you know what i think

Ok so I uploaded my swf file and the decompiler breaks my page down into 11 different categories.
Shape – there were 63 of them in the page
Image -14
Morph- 18
Sound- 4
Video- I think it views the whole document as a video so there was nothing there
Font - 6
Text- 23
Button- 2
Frame -139
Sprite-138—don’t really know what these are
Scripts- 94—when I click on this one is does not work the whole program stops working
The trial only lets me export 3 things from each category, so I just did 3 images
The whole thing looks good to me. My only concern is the scripts thing. I’m going to try to contact them and ask why this is happening.
But the things is even if I get all the pieces of my site I still have to put them back together which is going to be a heck of thing to try for someone like me

hmmm, scripts will be action scripts, tells the flash player thingy to follow certain rules when playing. Maybe this became corrupted when you converted it?
Sprites, I think that will be a movice clip thing (has it's own timeline) I'm guessing
I would be amazed if you manage to get a straight answer why the scripts crash if it is them, but best of luck anyway
