No searches have been going well.

I don't mean just right or left- I want the two to be next to each other, for example links to other parts of the site to the left and text to the right, like news updates, without them falling beneath one another.

Could you please place your url in your profile so we can take a look at it? The one there now isn't functional.

right, I see what you mean,

I think the thing for you is to create a table and place your stuff in there. Here's a quick example of a table:

<table width="100%" height="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr>
<td></td>
<td><h1>header here!?</h1></td>
<td></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Links here??</td>
<td>Text here</td>
<td>Something else here</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td></td>
<td></td>
<td></td>
</tr>
</table>

that's in a 3 by 3 grid. Should be what you need wink

HTH

Here's a basic layout of a page with page heading, left side menu, and right side content (typical page layout):

Code: [copy]

Who? Me? I wish I could show off my skills, but alas there are others here who are php, perl, and database masters who put me to shame. I wish I knew what they knew.

Now if someone would just invent a way for me to hook up a USB cable from my brain to their brains and just let their knowledge leak into my brain--that would be fan-diddly-tastic! wink

lol, sounds like a good idea, but the transfer rate would be terrible with a USB (1 anyway) wink

First we have 3-way linking, now we have 3-way brain data sharing by dudibob wink

BTW, USB 2.0 transfer rates of course would be necessary. Got to have at least 480Mb/sec of data transfer rate. Of course we might wanna try 1GB transfer of CAT6 cables and a data switch laugh

onion, you can always modify the examples. That's why they are provided in generic form so that you can add/modify them.
