frontpage 4.0 is obsolete by about 10 years, time to upgrade, all this alignment is best done in divs and css
Thanks, I appreciate your help very much. Using the div align is what made it work correctly. The rest of my website was built with FP, and it is still working correctly with the code the same way this page was. I had to change just a few words on this one page, and when I did, the banner would not center. The other pages still use the same code as this one did, and they are all still centering. That is why I couldn't understand why this one wouldn't, as all I did was change a few words.
Yes, I know FP is obsolete, but I have thousands of pages built with FP over several years, and it is too daunting of a task for me to try and convert the whole website. Believe me, I wish I could. I have tried a few of the other programs that have been advised for me to use, and they are way past my understanding.
Again, I really appreciate your help. Thanks so much.
Thanks, I did download that program a while back, as that was one of the ones someone suggested. It's something I will need to learn. Hopefully, I can find the time to do that soon. Just a quick question about NVU though, to convert from FP, there really isn't an easy way to do it is there?
Oh, and I know that this is not the proper way to use FP, and I'm not sure what difference it makes, but I don't use the SSI with it. I just used it to create my pages, and uploaded them using regular FTP.
I've never used FP, but I'm sure someone else has ...
SSI can be a great help - I use it for menus, headers and footers - but if your site is fairly small, there's no need for it. But as a site grows, its power is that it saves updating all those pages individually.
If you start small - maybe for a footer with 'last updated' or copyright details - you'll find that it's not as challenging as it may appear!
The reason I started using FP was because of the shared borders. (I know, a lot of you are going to cringe on that one!) I didn't know how to use includes, or SSI, so the shared borders served the purpose of putting headers, footers, and side borders, to where I just had to change something on one page, and it was changed on all pages, without having to change each and every one. Pretty much like includes, but without the SSI. My site has thousands of pages, and I cringe at the idea of having to do them all one by one. Hence, that is why I have kept the website with FP, as I really didn't know how to do it otherwise. I'm learning other ways, but very slowly!
Thanks, Quadrille, Mj1256, and Curt, I really appreciate all your help. I have learned a great deal from this forum and other members here, and it has really helped me a lot. Members of this forum, actually try and help, and for that I am very grateful. Several times, I have been lost, and this forum was the only one that had the patience, and really helped.
