Hi there. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good PhotoShop books for a decent price?I prefer if the author has a talkative personality, not just 'do this, do that', but let's stay on track too. Hopefully something for the PS Beginner, but by the end advanced enough to make sweet stuff. Not too complicated, easy listening style. (gotta take it slow with dummies like me!) Any matches? I'm not really that picky either, there's just lots of books out there so I thought I'd nail it down. Also, does anyone think I'd need a book to learn Dreamweaver? I don't think I would (since I've used several WYSIWYG editors in the past and know HTML) but maybe I would if the interface is confusing or if there's lots of hidden gems? Thanks!

I know that Photoshop can be confusing. I actually started with a book, but found that the manual that ships with PS was just as good.Outside of that, there are many websites that specialize in tips -- - http://www.designsbymark.com/ - http://www.zeroplace.com/photoshop.html - http://www.eyeball-design.com/tutorial_newset.htm - http://www.ultimate-photoshop.com/tips/ - http://www.deepspaceweb.com/ - http://www.were-here.com/index.shtml - http://www.ozones.com/handson/ There's also an expensive video from http://lynda.com -- she also has classes in Ojai, California.

Ah, and there's Lynda's online videos about GoLive, Dreamweaver, etc. ... a picture is definitely worth 1000 words, optimized or not. (Sorry for the search engine joke!) http://www.lynda.com/tips/index.html

Another really cool online tutorial I found is at http://www.nebulus.org/ps_tut.shtml They have a way of presenting the most basic stuff but including enough depth so that there's something to be learned for almost anyone. (Editing to remove the period at the end of the URL. Sorry.)

Tedster, that is a great one. Adding to my list!Actually, this one is a real "find," as it starts at the beginning, defines terms, and is very readable. [This message has been edited by DianeV (edited 06-20-2000).]
