Does anyone know of any good stock photography sites besides the ones I've already tried? The ones I've been to today are:
Artville
Corbis
Stockbyte
Eyewire
PhotoDisc
PhotoSphere
PhotoSpin

I'm looking for a photo of someone holding a (preferably rolled up) newspaper to use as an icon on my company's site, [url removed.] , and I cannot for the life of me find a photo that really works!

Hi

I did a reasonable search of some sites you had not listed and the best selection I could find was here.
http://www.photostogo.com/
I searched on newspaper and got 723 results. There are some images of a boy delivering a newspaper (rolled) but I don't think it's what you are after, but I may be wrong!

Hope this helps.

Don

Hey, thanks a lot, Don! I really appreciate that -- it was very nice of you to do a search for newspaper and see what came up, too. Thanks!

I personally have had good success with eyewire.com. Remember, if it's a commercial website you'd better get the rights to use the image or it could land you (or your company) in big trouble.

Hope this helps!

I have had better sucess with " photo objects" a CD with 50-100k quality photos web ready. Hermara Technologies is the comapany that makes it and it can be found at most software sites.

If you're only looking for a few select images then www.istockphoto.com is very good. They work on a download 'credit' system so $10.00 will buy you 20 credits. The size and resolution of the image determines the amount of credits you'll need to buy any given picture but generally even the smallest pictures are ok for web use. Other than that if you need images all of the time you can try www.arttoday.com . Literally hundreds of thousands of images and you pay based on a monthly membership fee. There are some decent free images at freefoto.com but I think my favorite so far is istockphoto.

For free, check out www.morguefile.com/. Some good photos here which we've used for design work for clients if you search through the dross. I hope this site grows.

We've also used www.istockphoto.com/ which is a good source and cheap for web & high res photos

IStockPhoto.com is by far the best not only for stock photos but also great for Illustrations created in Adobe Illustrator and there are also some decent Flash files you can download too. There is also a message board and some really good articles too! I don't work there, but <3 Istocksmile
