Hey all. I just got Flash for my birthday last night and am very excited about it... A couple quick questions... 1) Is it extremely hard to learn??? I haven't even looked at it yet, but hopefully it's not impossible to master? 2) Is it the same for everyone? What I mean is, when designing a flash movie, will it display the same for everyone with the flash plugin? Or do we have to worry about resolution, browser and platform problems like we do with web design? 3) Lastly, my parents are having a hard time trying to figure out what Flash does. Can anyone recommend any sites that use a ton of Flash in a cool way so I can show them? Gracias to any help!

Hey bro, - Happy B-dayCoolest Flashsite ever I think is www.nittotire.com Show them "your parents" that its vectored drawing by right clicking on a smal flash logo on any flash site and zooming in on it. ooh aaah see how its not pixelated. Flash is really easy All you do is make one key frame with a square skip 10 normal frames make another with a circle select all those frames and change tweening to shape and you just morphed a square into a circle. It can get very complicated but its really easy to do if you worked with layers and keyframe invironments b4 such as 3DS Max or Lightwave 3D A cool resource site is www.flashkit.com where you can download movies and see how those effects were achieved and get sound loops etc. Later bro Alex Gilman

The beauty of the flash plugin is that it is browser independent...everyone will see your movie exactly the same. Nevertheless, screen resolution does play a part. If the size of the stage (the movie area) is set too large, the movie won't display correctly on a smaller screen.A good start is to go through the tutorial built into the flash help menu. Unlike many built in helps, Flash has one that's actually very helpful and informative.

Thanks a lot Baffled! I'm probably safe if I stay under 600 pixels wide though, right?lol, I found Flash's help menu lessons to be very confusing.... hopefully the book will make more sense to me. I've found Macromedia to always explain things very well up until this point....

It might be that there's just so much to it (at least in the tutorials) so that, by the time you get to the end, it's difficult to remember the terminology and the steps. Just keep with it.
