Has anyone tried running tne new Photoshop 6.0 release on WIN95? Adobe gives an O/S requirement starting with WIN98 and moving up. I realize that there isn't a whole lot different between WIN95 and WIN98, but I found it interesting that Adobe appears to have left WIN95 off the "supported O/S" for PS 6.0. Thoughts?

Weird. I don't think I've seen any software that only says Win98 and up. I'd email them and ask if it is an oversight or if it really won't work on Win95.

Somehow I don't think it's an oversight on Adobe's part. Their website and all of their print materials on 6.0 list Win98 and up. Just got the direct mail package from Adobe this week, and it's quite specific on the OS requirements -- no 95 Guess I'll be upgrading my OS as well as my software.

If you upgrade Windows, go all the way to ME. I am using it on my cool new laptop and have yet to see a blue screen. The only problem I am having is getting it to fire up again from Hibernate mode. I usually have to reboot.

The rest of my machines are still on Second Edition and I'm thinking about going to Windows 2000 for everything. It's much more stable. If you can justify the extra expense, think seriously about 2000.

I spoke to Adobe yesterday and asked about Win95 (although I'm on 98). The answer is that the omission of Win95 is not a mistake.

I did not go into why, but at least we know that's the answer.
