Okay, we have Flash 4 and Flash 5. They appear to need different plugins.

Has anyone worked with both of these? I'm curious as to whether it's best to stick with F4 ... or go on to F5.

Good question Diane, I was wondering that myself.

I have personally experiaced problems loading the Flash 5 pluging on a few of my computers. So I wonder if its worth while to switch to Flash 5 if that means a person has to get yet another plugin. Aspecially when it maybe problematic to install this plugin.

I know what you mean. I installed the Flash 4 and maybe 5 plugins, but somehow they only seem to work for one of the browsers I use. Very annoying.

In any case, the larger question then becomes: how many people have the Flash 5 plugin? If more have F4, then that's the way to go, until it changes, of course.

I think that a large percentage of surfers now have the flash 5 plugin but I'd still work with 4. I'm sure that anything designed in 4 would work in 5 but it might not work the other way. Its similar to Netscape and IE - I learned to use Netscape to design because its the "picky" browser of the two. I guess it just depends on the percentage of surfers who have the flash 5 plugin? You might try http://www.flashkit.com to see if you can get some answers there.

If you designed in flash 5, you need the flash 5 plugin. If you designed in 4, the flash 5 plugin will work just fine for it. There isn't much of a difference in flash 5 as compared to 4, except a few menu changes and some other things, which I personally hated...
