Does anyone know any clever server side includes or Java ways to automatically create Previous and Next links based on the current HTML's name (e.g. 003.html) and link forward one name forward in a kind of thread?

I hate having to use the same template and change the numbers twice each time I add a new 'tip' to my site.

The only clever way i know of uses a simple piece of java in the a href. perhaps this looks like a job for super baffled.
