anyone have a good tutorial on embedding fonts. have had no luck with weft and would prefer not turning words into graphics to maintain style.
thanks for your replies and advice.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "embedding" fonts.
Are you saying that you want to require people to download a certain font in order to view your site? If so I suggest that you just stick to the verdana, arial and times new roman. Otherwise your best bet is to convert text into graphics (usually just done to the headers). This is because people are not likely going to download a font just to view your site.

If you give us some more input on what your main goal is, perhaps we can help you think of some solutions.

Thanks xelA for your prompt help.
My main objective is to use several fonts that would apparently require .eot files and thus far have had limited success with weft.
I am unsure if this is possible without converting the textual content into a graphic but my knowledge is very limited in this area. i.e.+ If I use a Futura font, and proper page layout requires this font be used on all client machines to view the page do I have any options other than weft?
Thanks again for your help.
subgen.

Lets go back a little;
What is the purpose of your site?
Who is your target market?
- age
- gender
- education
- income

These are all factors into what you can do with your site.

I've said it many times before, if your site is aimed at seniors, they're going to use a slower connection and are going to need larger fonts. However, the chances that they will have Flash and WEFT are very slim.

On the other hand if your target is "gamers" they will most likely have the plugins and are going to be willing to download more stuff.

So let us know...

Personally, I think that a "Visitor Friendly Site" should do the most with as little as possible. This means that it's up to you to be creative in figuring out what you can develop from the few tools you have that are widely available and yet make your site unique.
