I've been charged with bringing several sites up to ADA compliance.

Does anyone know where I can learn exactly what I need to know to bring the sites up to par?

    Thanks!

This site provides more info on the ADA http://www.ada.ufl.edu/

This site http://www.cast.org/bobby/ has a tool that validates your existing site and provides suggestions for possible solutions. I personally believe while this tool provides great input it should not be taken literally. For example my site fails it's test because of "Priority 1" warnings that state:

    1. If this is a data table (not used for layout only), identify headers for the table rows and columns.
    - yes, the table is so this doesn't apply

    2. If an image conveys important information beyond what is in its alternative text, provide an extended description.
    - no, it's just there for esthetics

    3. If style sheets are ignored or unsupported, are pages still readable and usable?
-yes the CSS is only used for text formatting

So don't take the tool literally.
