I have read in ebooks & been told at Internet marketing sites the best place to put links to inside pages is on the left side of the web page. I have a catalog style site that I am redesigning and right now I have over twenty pages of Products & info and expect to increase this by at least ten more pages before I am ready to go online with it. The problem I have is not a lot of content for the home(index) page so the links go on forever on the left side. I was thinking of taking 6 or 7 links and putting them accross the bottom. The links would be to "Policies - Guarantees - Links - Contact Us - Clubs _ About Us" type links and leave the links to all my products on the left side. Is this OK or is there a better way? .... I want to be as user friendly as possible.

I think it would all right to place that type of links across the top or bottom of your page. This is rather a common practice.

I agree.I have an online store and those headings are seperate from my product category listings. For me, product categories are listed on the left (category tree) and the "about us", "FAQ,s", "Contact Us" etc. is listed across the top.
