Hey guys, anyone made the jump to 7 yet? I just ordered a copy, it should be here shortly (I hope!).  The new healing brush and file browser features look pretty cool. Just wondering what you thought of it?

I have Photoshop 6 and I have no intention of upgrading. None of the new features are that compelling to me. For a $150 upgrade the only feature that seems useful is the healing tool. For someone with a huge image library, the file management feature might be useful, but it is not that useful for me. I plan on sitting this upgrade out and waiting for a real reason to spend more of my money!

I always love new software... unless it's Photoshop because they move things around and it's like I have to relearn it. I need to do some more research on this one before I can comment though.

Just an update on 7. Overall, Adobe has done an excellent job. There aren't really any noticeable changes that kind of grab you right off of the bat, but there are lots of little changes across the board. I didn't notice a lot of difference at first and wondered whether I'd made a good choice, but over time I'm very pleased. The new file browser is very good, but tends to slow up a little bit if you're opening a directory with a lot of files in it. Its not as instantanteous as impatient people like me would like, and I'm running an XP1800+.  By far the best upgrade is the healing tool. If you do a lot of photo modifications and touchup's this little toy is worth the upgrade cost alone. It works great! One other upgrade that is worth mentioning is the new 'painting engine' as they call it. It just seems to make things a little easier, since there are quite a lot of features built in with this. You could probably get by with 6.0 if you wanted to, but I would recommend going to 7.0 - especially if you're working with photos or doing a lot of graphics work.
