well if DMOZ got together that quickly to decide that then why still after months can we not submit to the site? I know i'm not alone on this - I also do understand as the above post stated that spam submissions could be a huge problem but the simple fact users such as myself havn't been able to submit to odp for along time now and when a way comes along that we can it is a definiate plus for us.
It just stinks to hear that you guys can discuss that problem and come to a solution so quickly but the problem that is on a much larger scale the submission seems to be overlooked or not worked on as much as it should.
Maybe instead of concentrating on the ways people shouldn't submit to the odp - you guys should fix the correct way of submission and you won't run into that problem (that in no way was an attack or anything of that type but just a broad statement)
Regards,
Bill

The submission process has been working normally for several days now.

whenever i go to the site and fill in the info hit submit it tries to load the next page but never makes it - usually timing out after about 5 minutes or so.
That's the same problem I have had for months now - i know that others have had the problem of clicking on catagories and having some type of editor false page come up also but that seems to have been fixed

That, and all other submission problems that were occurring during the upgrade, have been resolved. Every test submission I make goes through almost immediately. The number of submissions is back up to the amount we had pre-upgrade. And your post is the first I've heard of anyone having problems in over a week.
A major part of the access problems were automated scripts. The bottlenecks that have occurred have been reduced and possibly eliminated by an aggressive response to such scripts. So you really should not be surprised at the response it has received.

Consider that you may be blocked by your browser settings (Maybe IE does not want to send the correct data on "High security" for some reason?) or your proxy/firewall/adblocker/privacy-software (Some of your data filtered out as "private"? The connection not allowed due to a firewall rule?). You might want to try to use a different browser, not behind a proxy, monitoring if your firewall/adblocker interferes with the process. As theseeker says: At the moment we have no reports for the submission system being down or inresponsible except yours.
If you _should_ try to submit to some very exotic language category we might not have checked that. If you feel that might be the case send me the category URL as a sticky note or editor feedback and I will have a look into it.

Because of general demand, the script has been removed from its function, from now on it will only be used in private situations and personal use.
Allthough I think my script isn't harming the ODP, seeing the way it was designed (only act when needed, don't be agressive), I disagree too that this is the solution. I think I was becoming desperate to submit to DMOZ, anyway, You still can't.
I can submit to DMOZ, the script isn't functioning anymore for you guys, so everybody's happy.

Just as well. You weren't succeeding with the autosubmit anyhow.
