Hi everyone, I've just received a spam email which just blew me away.
Basically its a directory using ODP data and the email lists your ODP listing and asks you to renew your listing for US$5 a month, stating that their editors reviewed you for free initially. This email is done is such a way, that it looks like you are renewing your ODP listing.
Beware Everybody. If anyone wants to see the email I got, email me at [email address removed]

I too got that one! I got the same smell as you and dumped it. Didn't think about the warning to others - thanks.

Lib you said "This email is done is such a way, that it looks like you are renewing your ODP listing." How is that? The email I got didn't say anything about ODP.
As for the ODP logo at the bottom of their pages: all of the hundreds of ODP licensees are required to put that there...even Google.

jimtom,
It seems odd to me that you've registered for our forums and posted to four different threads that were all several months old and that all regard Top Sites.
You also listed no information about yourself when you registered. While it's quite possible that your intentions are pure, your actions make it fairly easy for our membership to be suspicious of your motives...
Do you have a relationship with TopSites that you'd like to disclose to us in the interest of honesty?
