Hello all,
I am new to this form and was wondering if anyone can help me. I have been very impressed with the great information found on this thread and I know my situation is not unique. So here we go...
Our site Objectware Inc has been listed for years with DMOZ. We also apeared fairly high on Google and Yahoo for certain keywords. Recently we discovered that we have been dropped from the face of the earth with most of our keywords. We also found that some of our customers have been dropped as well. One common thread to all of us who were dropped from high ranking on the Search Engines (Especially Google) was that DMOZ no longer listed us. Other customers still listed with DMOZ still show up fine with their key words. Now, I know that DMOZ presented some errors when I was searching for certain site for the last month or so (12/2003 to 1/2004). Our sites are still not showing up on DMOZ and I am lost over what to do next. I have re-registered all the missing sites with DMOZ and am anxious to know if we will ever be back on DMOZ. Needless to say I am very anxious to resolve this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, if you keep on suggesting the site in every ODP category you stumble into, you might annoy ODP editors so much that they actually ban the site. Submissions had to be moved around or deleted by editors, since you obviously failed to identify the correct category. That causes a lot of extra work to us, that coud be spent listing sites.
Apart from that, the site was not previously listed with DMOZ under that URL.
All of the webdesigner categories suffer from huge backlogs, since everyone out there claims to be a webdesigner but only few of the more experienced editors like actually editing webdesigner categories.

OK, thanks for the quick reply. So what would you recommend I do?
Should I move my listing to a more specific category? We are truly a Web Development Company, been around for 8 years and have a few hundred cusotmers that we provide Web Development services to.
Thanks for your help.

Wait until one of the many voluntary editors comes along and finds the time to review the submission?

Thanks,
At least now I know my requests are queued to be processed. I have also filed an application to become an editor for one of the categories. I hope to eliviate some of the presure from at least one of the categories.
Thanks again for your help.
