IMAGINE

WHAT IF THE MAJOR SEARCH ENGINE DIRECTORIES LIKE DGMOZ WERE BEING CONTROLLED BY TERRORISTS. WOULD WE KNOW BEFORE IT WAS TOO LATE? IMAGINE THE POWER AN EDITOR HAS IN TODAYS WORLD. A CLICK OF A BUTTON COULD DESTROY A COMPANY, AND PUT HUNDREDS OF FAMILIES ON WELFARE. NO VALID EXPLANATION - JUST POOF YOU'RE GONE!

FEAR WOULD KEEP MOST FROM SPEAKING UP IN FORUM GROUPS - SPEAK OUT AGAINST SEARCH ENGINE FOUL PLAY AND POOF YOU ARE BANNED FOREVER - OUT OF WORK - FINI - KEEP SPEAKING OUT AND GET BOMBED BY VIRUSES.

If, you have a business model that is dependant on a free listing in ANY search engines or directories, then its time to change your business.

>SPEAK OUT AGAINST SEARCH ENGINE FOUL PLAY AND POOF YOU ARE BANNED FOREVER

That never happens. You attempted to bribe a DMOZ editor - you "made your bed, now sleep in it"

Taking your ball and going home?
Take your CAPS with. :D

After your offering of cash to and editor, I'm afraid your comment about not wanting in dmoz is the best way to go...no editor will touch that site with a 10 foot pole, after you making that comment.
Better luck in your next endeavor. smile

And about the terrorists comment. That's what backups are for. smile

b2bwholesaler may be right.

But right now I am more woried about the posibility of terrorits taking over the artificial brain in all toasters. IMAGINE THE POSIBILITIES. Toast could start flying all over the place and people would have to start finding other means of getting breakfast ready.

or worse yet..it could burn the toast...what would we do then??
and then there's microwave issues. The timers could go screwy and everything comes out frozen or hard as a rock. :D

My milk didn't taste right this morning and I couldn't find a matching sock. Definitely signs of terrorist activity in my house.

b2bwholesaler,

I wanted to let you know that I have edited several of your posts for signature self promotion which is a violation of the TOS you agreed to when joining:

http://www.jimworld.com/forums/tos/

"Self promotion is prohibited. The JimWorld forums are designed to be an educational environment. Posters who solicit work within threads, or who make posts for the sole purpose of linking to their own content will be issued an official warning from staff."

JimWorld is an educational community and as such has
very strict rules against self promotion of any kind.

Take a moment to review the TOS you agreed to when you joined:

A warning has been associated with your ID by our system. This warning is part of our 3-strikes policy which is outlined in the TOS. This warning is viewable ONLY by You and our Staff.

Thank you for your cooperation,
The JimWorld Staff

I EMAILED THE ADMINISTRATOR SEVERAL DAYS AGO AND ASKED FOR ALL POSTS TO BE
REMOVED AND TO CLOSE MY MEMBERSHIP. I WAS NOT SELF PROMOTING, MY CUSTOMERS
ARE RETAILERS AND WHOLESALERS, NOT SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZERS AND WEBMASTERS,
I WAS SINCERELY TRYING TO GET HELP WITH MY PROBLEM AND ADDED MY LINK SO
ANOTHER MEMBER COULD LOOK AT MY SITE AND TELL ME IF THEY COULD SEE THE
SCROLLER AT THE TOP AND TELL ME IF IT PERHAPS WAS CAUSING THE ROBOTS NOT TO
SPIDER MY WEBPAGE.

I WAS NEVER OFFERED ANY HELP SO I EMAILED IAN AND TOLD HIM TO CLOSE MY
ACCOUNT.

PLEASE DO THIS AND CONFIRM BACK TO ME SO I CAN END THIS. THINGS HAVE REALLY
CHANGED AROUND THERE. I EVEN PAID FOR YOUR SERVICE LAST YEAR AND NEVER USED
IT THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I LOGGED IN AND ASKED FOR HELP. TOO BAD THINGS
HAVE TURNED INTO A POLICE KIND OF GROUP.

One Last Comment - Jim Readers. I do know how to drive traffic to my site without paying or getting your help which thus far has not been helpful and actually harmful since I am now getting spammed by SEO promoting their paid services. Yucko. If you want me to market YOU - I can show you how to get jobs but at this point all I want is for someone to remove my name and link from this group! I have requested and as you can see above, it has not been done!

I am also getting calls from people who want to buy one item. Please remove my links and contact information since we sell by the case to container loads. I don't want your traffic!!!!

I wanted a targeted listing under Wholesalers in DGMZ - but all I got was spam.

For others reading this, Jimworld used to be a great great service, I have promoted this site for years but the internet continues to evolve and to change.... I have decided to keep my website word of mouth so I receive better qualified traffic. I have also decided jimworld is for SEO who want to find work. C'est la vie.

I hope I don't get any more email notifications from jimworld after today - by by- and don't your imagination and humor - keep creating. by by Jane

I personally like these forums. I think people need to realize that foums are a good place to go for info. I haven't recieved any spam, but I aslo don't ask for help with my specific sites. I think this person is really unprofessional and needs to read her posts, and figure out for herself why noone wants to help someone who disregards TOS and comes across as being very hostile. The main reason to have your signature include your website on a forum is to get a great backlink to your site. This helps your PR and thus helps your ranking in Google. The problem is people spam forums.

On another note, I have a hard time helping people when their only posts are about their questions. HOw about helping other people out, even if it si just critiquing someone's website. Why should everyone just help you.

Just want to make a comment on something said here ... about paying a dmoz editor ... really .. I don't think it's such a bad thing. I've never done it myself, but sometimes I've thought of it, specially considering that they could take AGES to list a site. What's so wrong about offering money to an editor so that he takes the time to review your site? I don't mean listing the site in the wrong category, or listing an inappropiate site, or doing something against Dmox guidelines ... I mean just paying so that someone is going to spend 3 minutes looking at your site .. is that so wrong ??
