How long does it normally take the Yahoo directory to add a site through Standard submission? Also, is it necessary to submit the URL more than once? One of their FAQ says you can submit the site every 2 or 3 weeks, but is that really necessary to make sure the site eventually gets reviewed?

About 5 months ago, I submitted a non-commercial site via Standard submission but I didn't do any re-submitting. And now that thing about submitting every 2-3 weeks has me a little worried that I've waited all that time for nothing.

I most cases it is not neccesary to submite a website to search engines. All the major search engines have spiders that roam the net and collect website data. Yahoo may take manual submissions but you are better off just letting them come to you. I understand that you will be ranked better if they find you than If you submit to them. To see if they have visited your site look at your web logs. It will show up their each time. Yahoo spiders my site at least once a week. Others more often.

Thanks for the reply, but it's their web directory that I'm after. I'm already listed with their search engine.
