Hi

Does anybody have any experience of this directory - www.sterlins.com?

I copied and pasted a sentence from a potential new clients homepage and this directory was the number one result at Google and when I clicked the link it re-directed to the clients site. I am not sure what is happening here and any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Lu-be-lu

I don't like this directory. They require a back link to list you. They want you to link to them, with a html link. But in change they link to you with a java link. NASTY. That is plain greed (PR greed) and it is bad business policy to take advantage of peoples ignorance.

My site, yes my site, does link back to you. If you would take the time to look at the links in the directory and look at where it says details, there is a un-tampered with link back to your site. The only reason there is a cgi link back to your site is to see the traffic going out. Which isnt always correct BECAUSE of the real link back to your site.

Its bad mouths like you that give me a bad name. A real webmaster knows his business would see the real usefullness of my site before they submit a link.

Example:

Fontanasite:
Listed at this page: [link]
Has also this page: [link]

First off, sterlins, the first reason why I critizised your site is because you require a back link. Second, I had not seen the link you pointed out, I was wrongin saying you are PR greedy. I was trying to help someone out in very little time. The link none the less is burried.

And third by coming in here and calling me a "big mouth" for warning people against what I considered a bad deal, and still do, just makes you look unprofetional. This is my oppinion, we can actually discuss things without name-calling.

BTW
You have an alexa of 107,383
In google
You have 16,500 pages included
You have 550 reported back links
You have a total of 849 backlinks.
Your PR: 6

I could get a lot more info of your site, but I don't have the time. I do know what this site is worth (to some extent), and as a web master, to me, it is not worth it.

If you would like to tell me more about the site (maybe something I haven't considered) you are welcome, but please, lets try and keep it civil.
