I've 2 good listings under DOMZ directory. But, as I had changed my domain name, I had put a request in with DMOZ over 6 months ago to update my listing with the new domain name----NOTHING HAS HAPPENED. Is there any special way to make this request to DMOZ---or do they have not exact standards how they update their listings. Thanks.

You need a notice on the old domain stating what the new domain is (so that you can prove that you really are the owner of the one already listed in the directory), and a link to the new domain (for search engines to follow).

Alternatively, set up a 301 redirect from the old domain to the new one (see thread for more), and that will give the same message but will be found more quickly by the automated systems that check for these things.

... otherwise, if the old domain is still working and not pointing to the new address, and the new one is just a copy of the old one, we won't usually update the URL. Reason: To prevent hijacks of ODP entries.

I am an editor for DMOZ and the one way is to send a request and wait for the editor.

You can try asking an editor of another related category if you get no response after a long period of time.

If you make a request without the Notice and/or Redirect in place then the entry will NOT be amended.

Thanks for all the inputs... but here is the situation, I had put a 301 redirection before making any requests... but like I said, even after all these months I still dont see any changes.

Then you might want to ask for its status at the public ODP forum [link]
