Being an ODP editor myself, I know there are some opportunists that are editors, and to some degree there are checks and balances, but I believe certain Metas pretty much do whatever they want. Some of these can be justified, so please don't think I am saying these are not supposed to be there (judge for yourself). Here is a listing of the domains with the most listings in DMOZ:

www.whois.sc/internet-statistics/dmoz-listings.html

If you look, I think you will find some real winners (sarcastic tone of course). smile

Image my surprise to find "adult" sites in the above link list.....I did not think DMOZ listed these type of sites.....not sure why I thought they did'nt.......was quite surprised -

but onto the topic I agree - I scanned the lists, as well as chose to visit some of the listed web sites at random & was left scratching my head lol wink

Yes, if you especially look at some of the interior pages from that list...
ex. www.whois.sc/internet-statistics/dmoz-listings.html?page=14
...there is a ton of questionable stuff.

I don't want to be an editor for DMOZ, and I won't be submitting even quality sites there. There are so many other good directories to submit to these days.

dvduval, that's interesting--apparently you are and editor in the first post and then you don't want to be an editor for DMOZ/ODP? I'm confused.
