Hello,

I have been Submitting to Directories, for some of my major sites, but of no avail.

Majority of the directories are useless(i feel) as very few of them have been able to link back to my sites. Can u please tell me which directories accept the listings immediately? Any guidance, relating to same will be helpful. Thanks.

Try looking for directories that are specific to your site's topic. Some are smaller and more willing to take new listings. However, you might better spend time working on building content that people will naturally want to link to.

I do think directories are usefull! They bring you some traffic for free and give you more weight in search engines. However not all directories are good for your site.

Free listings may take a while to be processed.

Submit and move on.

Directories are only useful to get high PR sites (ofcourse you have to get high PR from good directories).
They'll not send you any traffic at al.. I have been advertising in BOTW but I haven't got any traffic in 3 months and will discontinue from next month.

That's just not true anymore. PageRank is only one minor part of the search engine algorithm at Google. It's by far better to make sure you've got on-topic links to your website--and directories offer on-topic links if you're listed in the right category.

Suddenly, I want to question the value of being listed in directories. How would it help anyhow? Isn't search engine the big thing now? We r not back in the days where directories and portals r the only sources of getting knowing other websites.
